Hey, you have to check out this wild glitch the Elden Ring speedrunning community just discovered! It’s gonna blow your mind.
So, there’s this $10,000 tournament going on, where players have to beat the new Shadow of the Erdtree DLC under some insane conditions. Like, they can only level up their Scadutree Blessing one time per boss fight, and they have to use only the weapons found in the expansion. Hardcore stuff, right?
Well, one of the runners, Joo, managed to find a game-breaking exploit that’s being called the “holy grail of DLC skips.” It’s called the Legasus glitch, and it lets you literally walk on air and bypass huge chunks of the new content.
Here’s how it works: you have to interrupt the animation of summoning your mount, Torrent, at just the right moment. When you do that, it kind of “pauses” the mounting process and gives you a limited no-gravity effect. The catch is, you can never stop moving – if you idle, you’ll get snapped back to the spot where you triggered the glitch, and if you mess it up somewhere else, you can plummet to your death.
But when you get it dialed in, you can use this Legasus effect to basically fly over sections of the Abyssal Woods area that would normally be a total pain in the ass. You can even “unload” Torrent at certain points to break the glitch and position yourself near a checkpoint, so you don’t have to redo the whole section if you mess up.
It’s an insane piece of tech, and the fact that it’s showing up in the middle of this super-tough tournament is just wild. The Elden Ring speedrunning scene is always pushing the boundaries, but this Legasus glitch seems like it’s taking things to a whole new level.
I can’t wait to see how the rest of the tournament shakes out, and what other crazy exploits the runners are gonna uncover. If you’re into the Souls games and speedrunning in general, you gotta keep an eye on this. It’s gonna be wild.
