Riot Games Pledges Support Amid Devastating LA Fires
As deadly fires rage across Los Angeles, Riot Games has temporarily closed its headquarters and expressed commitment to helping affected communities. The League of Legends developer, located near the Santa Monica evacuation zone, is allowing only essential staff into its building.
Impact of the Fires
The Palisades fire, the largest blaze, has burned over 19,000 acres and is only 6% contained. At least five people have died, and thousands of structures have been destroyed. Over 130,000 residents are under evacuation orders.
Riot’s Response
Riot Games CEO A. Dylan Jadeja addressed the situation, stating:
“Right now, what matters most is taking care of yourselves and each other. It takes a village to do what we do, and we are all in this moment together.”
Future Support Plans
Jadeja emphasized Riot’s commitment to the city:
“When the time is right, Riot will be ready to stand up for Los Angeles and give back in every way we can to all of these communities that mean so much to who we are.”
While the full extent of the damage is still unknown, Riot Games has made it clear that they will play a role in supporting Los Angeles’ recovery efforts once the immediate crisis has passed.
