Grand Hub Recently Added

Monster Hunter Wilds has a knack for hiding secrets for players to discover. From exclusive weapon mechanics to unexplored areas, there’s always something new to learn. The recently added Grand Hub is no exception, especially with the discovery of the enormous Downy Crake, affectionately dubbed “Gigacrake” by the community. Here’s how to find this oversized bird and how you can benefit from it.
Where to Find the Giant Downy Crake
The Giant Downy Crake has a nest tucked away behind a waterfall. Fortunately, the Grand Hub is relatively small, and the path to this unique bird is quite close to the entrance, requiring just a bit of platforming.
To start, climb up the side of the giant skeleton that dominates the Grand Hub. From the entrance, cross the wooden bridge on your right and follow the dirt path upwards. On your left, near a torch, you’ll see a wall of vines that you can climb to reach the top of some very large bones.
Once at the top, run to the right and use the tip of the bone as a ramp to jump to the elevated platform. Don’t worry too much if you miss it; there’s no consequence for falling, but aiming more towards the right can help if you keep missing.
Next, head left and jump across the chasm in front of the waterfall. Continue moving forward until you encounter a second waterfall. The mountainside gives way slightly, revealing a narrow pathway that runs behind it. Jump down and turn into the small alcove to find a group of downy crakes and their much larger parent.
Earn More Trinkets

Discovering the Joys of Nest Trinkets
The thrill of spotting this remarkably fluffy bird goes beyond capturing amusing screenshots. Nestled nearby, you might stumble upon a delightful surprise known as a Nest Trinket. These shimmering treasures hold the promise of rewards—one or even multiple items that the charming Downy Crakes have meticulously collected. You’ll uncover a delightful assortment of seeds, vibrant eggs, and even glimmering treasures hidden among these trinkets.
These enchanting trinkets seem to respawn after a complete day/night cycle within the bustling Grand Hub, which spans approximately 50 minutes. Unfortunately, you’re unable to fast-forward this time, as the rest mechanic is out of action in this vibrant area. Whether you chose to linger in the Grand Hub or ventur out to tackle some exhilarating Arena Quests, each session yields only a single item. However, embarking on an exhilarating series of hunts allowsthe Nest Trinkets to renew more swiftly, and an abundance of rewards. This experience mirrors the magic of Cohoot Nests in Monster Hunter Rise. So, after indulging in some thrilling hunts, be sure to return—the fluffy birds will generously bless you with their treasures!
