The Street Fighter 6 hype train just keeps on rolling!
After an incredibly successful launch and the introduction of a killer first wave of DLC fighters, Capcom has finally pulled back the curtain on their plans for Season 2. And let me tell you, they’re bringing the heavy hitters.
During the recent Summer Game Fest showcase, Capcom revealed the next four combatants joining the Street Fighter 6 roster – and the biggest name on that list is none other than M. Bison himself. That’s right, the long-time series villain and final boss of countless Street Fighter stories is back and ready to wreak havoc on a new generation of fighters.
Bison’s inclusion is a particularly exciting development for longtime fans of the franchise. The dastardly dictator has been noticeably absent from the main roster since Street Fighter V, leaving a noticeable void in the lineup. But now, he’s primed and ready to reclaim his throne as the ultimate evil that the world’s greatest warriors must overcome.
Joining Bison in this second wave of DLC are two crossover legends – Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury series. These two fan-favorites have been requested by the community for ages, and it’s awesome to see them finally make the jump over to the Street Fighter universe. I’m sure their unique fighting styles and flashy special moves are going to make them instant favorites among the hardcore FGC crowd.
Rounding out this stacked lineup is the return of Elena, the graceful and capoeira-infused fighter who’s been part of the Street Fighter roster since Third Strike. She’s always been a fan-favorite for her fluid animations and unorthodox moveset, so it’ll be exciting to see how she’s been updated and refined for the Street Fighter 6 experience.
When you look at the initial launch roster for Street Fighter 6, it was already an incredibly strong and diverse group of combatants. Newcomers like Kimberly, Manon, and Marisa have already proven themselves to be worthy additions to the legacy, carving out their own identities and playstyles. But now, with the arrival of these iconic characters in Season 2, the roster is shaping up to be one of the most comprehensive and engaging in the entire franchise.
I can already envision the endless combo videos, character breakdowns, and heated tournament matches that are going to emerge as players dive into mastering these new additions. The Street Fighter community is gonna be eating good for a long time as we explore the depths of this stacked lineup. And let’s be real, with M. Bison back in the mix, the stakes are higher than ever. The ultimate showdown between good and evil is upon us, fam. Are you ready?
