Between a day job at a flower shop, her dance videos gained traction as TaiAysha built an audience of hundreds of thousands on Instagram. Producer and Icon Music Group founder Steve Morales who’s worked with a wide range of artists such as Beyoncรฉ, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion. Morales recognised something in her dance videos and reached out to see if she had a voice to match her dance style.

“My music should make you feel fun, excited, and sexy,” she exclaims. Inspired by Lauryn Hill, Rihanna, and Sade, she cultivated a simmering, seductive, and scorching signature style of her own. “Honey, I do a little bit of everything,” she elaborates. “I love dancehall, and I love reggaeton. So, I’m combining heavy beats with pop elements. It’s meant to be hot, flowy, and rhythmic.”

“Sorry” is a twist on what we usually think of when hearing it as a title for a song. The song’s vibe is expressed in the lines.

“Boy, I gave you more than one try”, and later in the song.

“How it feel to have to watch me win?

How it feel to know you’ll never hit this again?”

“Sorry” is out on Atlantic Records and in rotation on Bridge Radio Hot Hits.
