Zenless Zone Zero has unveiled its highly anticipated Version 2.5, titled “To Be Fuel for the Night.” This update is significant as it marks the conclusion of Season 2. Scheduled for release on December 30, it promises to be the last major update of the year, offering players exciting new content and rewards to celebrate the upcoming new year.
New Characters and Abilities
One of the most notable additions in Version 2.5 is Ye Shunguang, a new Agent who specializes as a Void Hunter. Uniquely, she is the first dual-form Agent in the game. Alongside her, Zhao will also become a playable character in this update. Both characters were teased by HoYoverse during The Game Awards, generating considerable excitement among fans.
Ye Shunguang brings a unique ability called Honed Edge, allowing her to enter an Enlightened Mind state. Her signature Ether Veil can inflict Honed Edge damage while applying a vulnerability effect to enemies. Accompanying her is Bangboo Sprout, who enhances her swordplay theme by summoning flying swords. Meanwhile, Zhao, an S-Rank Ice Defence character, is a fast attacker wielding a giant greataxe. Her abilities include triggering Ether Veil: Wellspring, which provides buffs to the entire squad.

The narrative in this chapter delves into the fate of Waifei Peninsula, taking players deeper into the Lumite Mine ruins. The new Perception Technique will be essential for uncovering hidden answers within the story. Ye Shunguang’s Bladeflash Mirage ability will play a crucial role during the investigation, offering unique rewards, including a new W-Engine.
Version 2.5 also introduces a multiplayer combat experience through the limited-time Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze event. Players can form three-Agent squads to engage in unique combat challenges, adding a competitive edge to the gameplay.
